Caulking didn't go as well as I had hoped. All three of the builders were less that perfect, thank goodness it was clear.
We hope to have tiny house on display for parent/ teacher conferences October 23rd from 1:00 to 8:00. it will be in the parking lot at Hacker Middle School.
Since we had very few suggestions for names, I have been calling "it" Baby. Well, Baby had a problem today. I rushed over to pick it up from my mom's house and the jack would not work. At lunch I was able to get a new one and hope to get it on after school.
The shower is in and I need to call the electrician. Next week we will start looking at water heaters and discussing the pros and cons of electric or gas, tank or tank-less, RV style or house style.
We did a walk through and talked about where electric should go. Thanks to a generous investor, we are able to get the electrician to come and do the rough- in. He also suggested that the kids help pull wire, put in boxes, and such-thank you Mr. Winnings. Mr Winnings suggested putting in a 50 amp 120 service and a 12 volt service in case the buyer wanted to live off grid. The siding is finished and the caulking is almost done.
We are in waiting mode, waiting for our last window to come so we can finish the siding, so we can finish the sealing, so we can chalk it and be ready for the cold winter winds. We are waiting to hear from some more potential investors so that we can keep building.
Our funds are depleted and we have been discussing what to do. I want to keep with the investor idea, but the kids want to take action now! They want to start lemonade stands, have baked food sales, ask their parents for money, and even give their own. I admire their drive. It really is a great bunch of kids I get to work with. We have been approached by a potential buyer for a completed house, so we will see how that pans out. I don't know if any of the investors are interested in buying it, but the kids thought it would be a good idea to offer it to them first.
Since we are on the topic of investors, I would like to thank each one of you for this opportunity to do this. If it ended today, it would have been worth it, thank you.
